Jason was strong from the very beginning. When I was about 3 or 4 months, I lost all my fluid because Jason kicked a hole in the sac around him. They told me that Jason would not live, and that I had to end the pregnancy. I couldn't take that as a anwser. So I had to find a doctor that would help me with my high- risk prenancy. Luckily, God led me to a great doctor.
At 7 months, I had a car accident. I made it through with only mild injuries to myself. Miraculously, the baby was fine, too. Two weeks later, though, I started having sharp pain.I called my husband at work, and told him that I needed to go to the hospital. It was around 6 in the morning. He told me that he would be there in about 15 minutes. When we got to the hospital, they admitted me and kept a close eye on me for about 4 1/2hours. Then Doctor Anderson, my new obstetrician, came in and told me it was time.At 11 o'clock A.M., they got me prepped for surgery, gave me my epidural and I was on my way!!
At noon, I gave birth to a little boy named Jason Victor Zepeda. He was 2 lb. 8 oz.,and 14 1/2 inch long. He went straight up to the NICU after he was born. I saw him for the first time at 7 p.m. that night. I had tears in my eyes.He was so small. He had a tube going down his throat (so he could breathe). He had picc line in his left leg, iv's in his right hand and a feeding tube in his nose that ran straight through to his tummy .I thought to myself "he is in so much pain". That night I cried so hard!! After 5 months in the hospital, having good and bad days, we finally got to go home. That was the happiest day of our lives!
Now, Jason just turned 7, and I can't believe that my little boy went bravely through so much already. There is more to face, since he has been diagnosed with autism. Yet, Jason dosen't let his autism get the best of him. He is in 1st grade now and keeps moving on and learning as much as he can.Jason's family is very proud of him and everything he has accomplished in his short time on earth. We love him with all of our hearts and souls... forever and always.
